These two very different recipes have 2 major things in common...
1. THEY ARE BOTH DELICIOUS
2. THEY AREN'T VERY PRETTY
Over the last week or two I have made some soul warming comfort food. The problem is, once I photograph it, I realize they just aren't pretty. They are not very colorful which means pictures that are sort of blah. I even tried to dress up the steak with some green onions but alas it didn't make a difference. Regardless, I have decided they are just too yummy not to share, pretty or not. So they are not the belles of the ball but you'll be glad you gave them a chance.

Well, what do you think? Should ugly recipes be shared?
I like to think I am an expert at Yummy but not Pretty!! hahah Thanks for sharing, I am all about the crock pot right now.
ReplyDeleteIf I share ugly recipes, I usually have to apologize for the bad picture! Lol! Or if the first set of pics turns out bad, then I re-plate or try using a different placemat to see if it changes anything to make it look better! Oh the life of a food blogger! :)
ReplyDeleteI tried so hard with these to re do but there is just nothing that I could do to pretty them up, especially with the family waiting for their dinner!
DeleteThey both look good to me. And I bet if my husband saw the photos, he would ask me to make them!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm not sure if I'm disappointed in how the food looks or my photography skills (or lack thereof) :-)
DeleteDon't you hate that brown food tastes so good? If only it were prettier. These recipes sound great.
ReplyDeleteYes, brown is so hard to shoot pretty! Was it you I quoted Anne Burrell to the other day? I will just keep telling myself "Brown food tastes good"
DeleteI have to try both of these recipes. They both look so good.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it so frustrating when a delicious recipe just won't photograph well?
ReplyDeleteI've found that most of the time my favorite recipes are the ones that don't photograph well. Love the idea of posting them anyway.
