Now that school is back in full swing and the kids have activities etc, I am trying to free myself up a bit and have at least one crock pot meal per week. This makes getting everyone where they need to go much easier on me. This recipe is adapted from one that I had found online somewhere but in the printout there is no name etc, so I cannot give proper credit. I did make some changes to suit my tastes so that is version I will give you.
Ingredient List:
Stew Meat (I used 1.5 lb but use as much as suits your family size)
1 envelope mushroom onion soup mix (or regular onion if mushroom isn't your thing)
1 envelope brown gravy mix
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 container of fresh mushrooms (optional)
12 oz sprite
Recipe (very simple):
1. Add cubed meat into lined crockpot.
2. Add both envelopes, cream of soup and sprite and stir until combined.
4. Stir in fresh mushrooms.
Cook on low 6-8 hours. My cooker seems to cook really hot so 6 hours was all I needed.
You could serve this over rice, buttered egg noodles, mashed potatoes. We used a creamy rice (I think it was a rice a roni box) and it was great. We also served peas along side and that went well with the dish.
